Reminders for this weekend

We are meeting on Saturday at 11 to start baking pies. We are donating 10-12 pies to Canton Calvary Mission for their Thanksgiving meal. Still working on what to do with the rest.

We're meeting on Sunday at 12:15 PM after late service to see if that time works better for everyone. Assignment = Chapter 1 of It's Not About Me.

Tentative date for Canton Calvary Mission meal = January 3rd

What are we doing for December?

11/9 Summary

We are finished with our first book. Don't forget to buy the next one!

See you on Saturday for game night at 6 PM at the church!

Also, let's start meeting after late service around 12:15 and see if that time is better for everyone.

Pumpkin Pie Sale Results!

We sold a total of 38 pumpkin pies (it would have been 40 if we hadn't needed to "test" one and if Mason hadn't dropped another!).

We collected approximately $330. Our costs were about $155, so we have about $175 left to make more pies for our church's shut ins and local soup kitchens at Thanksgiving.

Thanks to everyone for the time and hard work that was put into making all of the pies! And especially thanks to the folks from the congregation who ordered them!

Ideas for service projects

The Massillon Gateway has a list of a lot of great groups we could volunteer for... or donate pies/other food to. I especially like the United Way Volunteer Serviecs because they match groups with volunteer opportunities. Take a moment to check out this website, and I think we should all think and pray about what group could use the YC's help!

10/19 Summary

Thirty-three pumpkin pie orders and counting! See you at church to start baking at 11:00 AM! Some folks need to leave early and some will come late, but no matter what time you can make it at least some of us will probably be there!

Items to continue thinking about:
  • What kind of community ministery do we want to look into starting?
  • What "social" event can we host on November 15th? LaserQuest? Bowling? Pool? Game night? Band/concert?

Next date to bake charity/shut-in pies: tentatively Novemer 22nd
